STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The foundation of everything that we wish to achieve in life and all that we have already accomplished is greatly dependent on how much we believe in ourselves and it’s only then that we can reach the zenith of our ambitions.Ever since I was young, I’ve always been interested in Communication mediums. Looking at a Radio or Television, I would wonder how pictures and sounds were emitted from these small boxes. At the age of 13, my parents bought me a computer, giving me the opportunity to better understand and use it, furthering my fascination for technology. Passing my 10th grade examination with flying colors, I decided to pursue my studies in the field of technology. Under the guidance of my school counselor, I decided to enter Engineering with Electronics and Telecommunication as my specialization. This decision was a result of both my aptitude for the subjects as well as my interest and curiosity to learn more about it.

I wanted to learn networking in telecommunication so I choose masters in telecommunication. For that I had to get in INTO pathway program George mason iniversity. INTO pathway looked not unrelated at start as it focused on English language but after sometime it made me realize how important it was. INTO gave me valuable knowledge of listening writing and boosted my confidence of public speaking. It made me prepare for presentations analytical writing and these all helped me understand English language better. This I know will be my edge when I will be further studying and working at different multi-national companies.

I completed my under graduation from Mumbai, India. Entering into the highly regarded K.C College of Engineering (2011), I was exposed to several subjects that left an indelible mark on me.  The two core subjects that truly influenced me to opt for a Master’s program in this field were Advanced Networking Technologies and Telecommunications.. I have studied the subject of Telecommunications for the last 6 academic years of under graduation and graduation. This is a subject I have a strong liking towards and has given me an in-depth knowledge of the various communication aspects such as different mediums of communication, types of communication etc.

I worked on ‘Data Embedded Security System Using Stenography’ for my final year project. Both Stenography and cryptography are secretive modes of communication that hide confidential information, but the difference between them is that the output of Stenography operation is not apparently visible and cryptography is visible. I also did an international paper presentation on it for IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).

Beside my passion for the field of communication, I have a strong, well-rounded personality with numerous interests. I have an optimistic approach towards my work and my career. My training at Raigad Military School in year (2002), the country’s most reputed military school, has taught me to be a person of integrity, honor, and courage and to respect all human beings.

I’ve always been a keen sportsperson and was a part of my school’s Volleyball Team, representing them at State and District-level competitions such as the MSSA and DSO.

I took part in various cultural events like the Fashion Show, acted in various skits and assisted in the direction of the College`s Cultural Festival’s Play. I was a core member of the managing committee responsible for the college event, Verve. At the K.C College of Engineering, I was an integral part of the volleyball team for all three years, winning a gold medal in my final year in the Intra College Tournament (2013-2104).

What fascinated me most about the subject( telecommunication) is its simplicity and our basic need to communicate with each other. I am currently studying more about Networking and learning CISCO Networking at RST forum in Mumbai, one of the best teaching forums all over India. My professor, Vaghish Dwivedi, is himself Director Solution of companies like Cisco and National Manager for HP. I strongly believe that my skills and academic performance with distinction will enable me to do well in the MS in Telecommunication at George Mason University fast.

After completing my course, is complete, I aim to do a PhD in this field and hence a strong foundation and knowledge is essential to me. I believe that the MS from the George Mason  University shall prove to be an ideal stepping-stone in this direction. I am resolved to this course and willing to work hard towards it.
